Dale A. Housour
Dale A. Housour, 78, Wakarusa, died at 9:22 p.m., Friday, March 20, 2015, at his residence after a brief illness.
He was born July 8, 1936, in Wakarusa to Anson and Nellie (Loucks) Housour.
Dale was a lifetime resident of Wakarusa and graduated from Wakarusa High School in 1956. On June 22, 1957, he married Sally Thompson in Wakarusa.
Dale had been the owner of Housour Truck Leasing for many years. He had also drove truck for Beer & Slabaugh in Nappanee. After his retirement, Dale enjoyed woodworking and crafted many beautiful items for his family. He was a member of Wakarusa United Methodist Church and former member of the Wakarusa Fire Deptartment and Elkhart County Board of Zoning.
Mr. Housour is survived by his wife: Sally; daughters: LeeAnn ( Steve) Beehler, Wakarusa; DeeAnn (Tracy) Beer, Nappanee; grandchildren: Blaine (Michele) Beehler, Lewiston, Idaho; Lisa (Chris) Watson, Spokane, Wa.; Jason (Whitney) Beer, Milford; Travis (fiancé, Julie Crothers) Beer, Nappanee; great-grandchildren: Cayden and Beau Beehler; Analie and Ariana Watson; sister: Betty (Keith) Sinton, Ridgecrest , Calif.; and brother: Don (Phyllis) Housour, Nappanee.
He was preceded in death by a brother: Tony Housour; and sisters: Wanita Horn, Annabelle Horne and Elnor Conrad.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, March 23, 2015, at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Wakarusa, where funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, March 24. Rev. Ed Geleske will officiate and burial will be in Olive West Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be given to Harbor Light Hospice or Riley Hospital for Children.
