Janet S. Kile
Janet S. Kile, 71, of rural Larwill, died Sunday evening, March 15, 2015, at Hope Hospice House in Fort Myers, Fla.
She was born on May 25, 1943, in Fort Wayne, the only child of Cletus and Beulah (Haas) Ressler. Her formative years were spent in Columbia City. She graduated from Columbia City Joint High School and continued her education at Purdue University. On Oct. 2, 1964, she was united in marriage to Paul D. Kile. They have always made their home in Etna Troy Township, Whitley County.
Janet was a substitute teacher for many schools in the area. She was a member of Troy Presbyterian Church, Whitley County Extension Homemakers, Whitley Quilters and served as a 4-H Leader for 25 years. She also judged at area county and state 4-H Fairs.
Surviving relatives include her husband: Paul; three daughters: Tamara (Matthew) Goda, Kailua Hawaii; Deanna (Paul) Marken, Columbia City; Laura (Jason) Smedley, Maple Valley Wash.; and five grandchildren: Caleb, Hannah and Lenya Goda; Audra and Andrew Marken.
A son, Gary Wayne Kile, preceded her in death.
The funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 16, at Troy Presbyterian Church, 6465 West Lincolnway, Columbia City. The burial was held in Troy Presbyterian Cemetery. Smith and Sons Funeral Home was entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
