Warsaw Track Team Second In Invite
FORT WAYNE – The Warsaw boys track team scored a second-place team finish Saturday in the New Haven Bulldog Indoor Invitational held at IPFW.
Carroll totaled 75 points in the Open Division, while coach Matt Thacker’s Tigers scored 63.
Leading the way for Warsaw by earning qualifying spots in the Indoor State Meet on March 21 at Purdue were Owen Glogovsky, Brock Riley and Ben Plummer in individual competition along with the relay team of Riley Rhoades, D’Andre Street, Daniel Messenger and Landan Perry.
Glogovsky placed second in the 3,200 meter run with a time of 9:53.76. Riley was fifth in the high jump by clearing 6-1. Plummer was second in the shot put with a throw of 47-6. The 4 X 400 relay team of Rhoades, Street, Messenger and Perry were second in a time of 3:36.4.
Caleb Klusman took third in the 60 hurdles with a time of 9.14. Rashaan Jackson placed second in the long jump with a leap of 19-7. Dylan Childers was fifth in the shot put with a throw of 46-3 and Street was sixth in the long jump at 18 3 1/2.
Also placing in the top 10 for the Tigers were Lucas Howett, who was ninth in the 3,200 with a time of 10:56.49 and Brandon Reinholt, who was 10th in the 60 dash in a time of 7.57.
The 4 X 800 relay team of Nick Adams, Trent Shepherd, Francisco Rodriguez and Taylor Mills placed fourth in a time of 9:17.80. The 4 X 200 relay team of Nick Light, Josh Fitzgerald, Rhoades and Reinholt were also fourth with a time of 1:38.70. The Distance Medley Relay team of Jon Beres, Messenger, Howett and Leytan Perry placed fifth with a time of 12:02.69.
Warsaw will open its outdoor season by hosting Fort Wayne Snider on March 26.
