Lincolnway District Honors Area Scout Leaders
The Lincolnway District of the Anthony Wayne Area Council of Boy Scouts held its Mardi Gras Celebration Dinner Saturday, Feb. 28, March recently at the United Methodist Church, North Webster.
The annual celebration dinner honors Scout Leaders from the district with numerous awards ranging from a Court of Honor to receive a National Youth Leadership Training Course Director Beading to 50 years of service.
The evening was concluded with Jim Molebash, district Scout executive, presenting the Lincolnway Talk. Molebash noted the leaders “don’t do what they do in scouting to get an award. You do it to get rewarded.” He noted those rewards are when a Scout shoots a bow and arrow for the first time, a non-swimmer passes the swimming test at camp, a mom pins an Eagle Scout pin on the chest of her son. “You’re reward is down the road when former Scouts makes moral decisions for his family, in business, as a legislature or in the oval office. You have the power to change the world.
“The time, talent, energy you spend give lasting changes in the lives you serve. In 100 years from now the world will be different because of that.”
