NWS Issues Winter Weather Advisory
The National Weather Service in northern Indiana has issued a winter weather advisory for freezing rain and sleet, which is in effect from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday.
According to the NWS, freezing rain will spread from the southwest at 6 a.m. to the northeast by 9 a.m. The precipitation will start as a mixture of sleet, freezing rain and snow. NWS advises to expect 1 to 2 inches of freezing rain before changing to all rain. Rain will overspread the area by or before 1 p.m.
Please note sheltered roads, overpasses and intersections will be icy and dangerous. Sidewalks and driveways will be icy and dangerous as well. Morning commutes will be affected by the weather and drivers are advised to use caution.
