Ruby I. Beeks, 87, of Lagro, died at 12:21 a.m., Friday, February 27, 2015 at Parkview Wabash Hospital. She was born July 14, 1927 in Lagro, to Ira and Mary (Kessler) Bidwell.

Ruby married Robert E. Beeks at the Lagro Methodist Parsonage on April 15, 1945; he died Dec. 15, 1987. She was a homemaker. She attended the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness in Wabash. She enjoyed cooking and raising her grandchildren.

She is survived by four daughters: Diane (Kevin) Strickler, Lagro; Caroline Smith and Kathy (Dale) Winger, both of Wabash; and Tonya (Chris) Cooper, Lagro; two brothers: Karl (Juanita) Bidwell, Wabash; Max D. Bidwell, Lagro; 14 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; two sons: Randy and Dean Beeks; five brothers; and two grandsons.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 3, at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Ave., Wabash. Burial will be in Lagro Cemetery. Friends may call 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, at the funeral home.

Preferred memorial is Wabash County Cancer Society.
