Lester Ray Hunt
Lester R. Hunt, Jr., 60, of Ligonier, passed away on Feb. 27, 2015, in Ligonier.
He was born on Feb. 3, 1955, in LaGrange County, to Lester R. and Ethel Gertie (LeCount) Hunt, Sr. He married Lucinda Marie Miller on April 12, 1975, in Noble County. She passed away on Nov. 16, 2011.
Lester is survived by his daughters: Shelly (Jeff) Long, Ligonier; Shanna (John) Griffith, Cromwell; and a son: Shawn Hunt, Treadway, Tenn.; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a sister: April Hunt, Lake Butler, Fla.; and a brother; Lloyd Hunt, also of Lake Butler; an uncle, Jack (Barb) LeCount, of Ligonier and an aunt, Midge Sprague, of Ligonier.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter-in-law: Michelle Hunt.
He started his life as a farmer in Noble County. He went to work for Parker Hybrid Seed Company in Kimmell until it closed. He spent time as a truck driver in the area. For the last several years, he took care of the Kimmell Baseball Diamond. He loved his dogs. He was a great woodworker- he was always building something for someone.
A Memorial Service in his honor will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday March 3, at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway S., Ligonier. Pastor Mel Heininger will officiate. Friends may visit with the family for two hours prior to the service at the funeral home on Tuesday. A cremation committal will take place at Legacy Cremation and Remembrance Center.
