Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accidents:
5:33 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25, West SR 14, west of South CR 750W, Silver Lake. Driver: Cara R. Prater, 26, North SR 19, Akron. Hit deer. Damage up to $5,000.
4:06 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25, North CR 300E, north of East Rookstool Road, Milford. Driver: Lisa D. Peterson, 49, EMS D24 Lane, Syracuse. Hit deer. Damage up to $5,000.
5:03 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 24, South CR 1000W, south of West CR 700S, Mentone. Driver: Joyce A. Hamman, 60, West CR 525S, Claypool. Hamman’s vehicle slid on the ice covered road, went off road hitting utility pole and telephone junction box. Damage up to $5,000.
4:12 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 24, East CR 200N, west of North CR 525E, North Webster. Driver: Linzy N. Cox, 32, Gable Drive, Warsaw. Cox complained of pain to the elbow/lower arm. Cox was westbound when she meet an oncoming vehicle and could not get over further. Her vehicle struck a snow bank and rolled. She was taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital. Damage up to $10,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
3;21 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 24, Logan Street, north of Rozella Road, Warsaw. Driver: Christian E. Laughlin, 17, East Wildwood Drive, Warsaw. Crosswinds caused Laughlin’s vehicle to fishtail, while he attempted to main control to avoid an accident, his vehicle did sideswiped a sign. His vehicle came to rest int he roadway but perpendicular to the road and facing the opposite direction he was traveling. Damage up to $2,500.
3:51 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 24, West Market Street, Warsaw. Driver: Kenneth P. Moyer, 57, West Lake Park Drive, Warsaw. Moyer backed into a parked vehicle in the post office parking lot registered to Jason W. Ort, East Main Street, Warsaw. Damage up to $2,500.
12:09 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 24, Dubois Drive, Warsaw. Driver: Kylie M. Rickert-Snyder, 26, North CR 100W, North Manchester, and Phyllis K. England, 75, West Market Street, Pierceton. Both drivers were parked in opposite sides of the parking lot of the Pill Box, and backed out of those spots at the same time, colliding in the middle of the lot. Damage up to $2,500.
11:14 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 24, Walton Boulevard, Warsaw. Driver Rodger L. Berry, 41, Wayside Court, Warsaw. Berry, a tow truck driver, was loading a vehicle registered to Rosalee J. Spear, County Club Drive, Warsaw, onto the flatbed when the wench gave out, causing Spear’s vehicle to roll back down the ramp. The vehicle struck a parked vehicle registered to Shawna R. Howard, Walter Way, Warsaw. Damage up to $2,500.
11:07 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 24, North Scott Street and East Center Street, Warsaw. Jason Sucec, 37, South County Farm Road, Warsaw; Brittany L. Hastings, 30, EMS C24F Lane, Warsaw; Juan Ramirez, 42, Anchorage Road, Warsaw. Hasting complained of pain to the head and was taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital. Sucec turned in front of the Hastings vehicle from East Center Street onto Scott Street, causing the vehicles to collide. Sucec’s vehicle then struck the stopped Ramirez vehicle which was stopped on Scott Street. Sucec issued citation for driving while suspended with a prior; Ramirez was issued a citation for driving while suspended, an infraction and driving a vehicle withouth financial responsibility. Damage up to $25,000.
9:10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 24, East CR 200N and Lake City Highway, Warsaw. Drivers: Sara J. Kissell, 21, East CR 450N, Leesburg, and Steven E. Thomas, 59, EMS C27C2Lane, Warsaw. Kissell struck the back of the Thomas vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
