Robert “Bob” D. Getz, 85, Wakarusa, passed away Thursday, Feb. 19, 2015, at his residence.

He was born May 15, 1929 in Foraker, Elkhart County, to Devon D. & Fern (Martin) Getz

He married Dorothy A. (Berkeypile/Fredericks) Getz on July 30, 1948 and she died Nov. 26, 2014.

Bob was a farmer, livestock hauler and an antique collector. He was a 1947 graduate of Wakarusa High School.

Surviving are a daughter, Vicki (Martin) Moyer, Jimtown; sons, Mike (Kay) Getz, Wakarusa, Mark (Debora) Getz, Bremen; grandsons, also pallbearers, Robert Scott Getz, Kerry M. Getz, Kent D. Getz, Lee Moyer, Charles Moyer, Martin Moyer Jr., William Moyer and granddaughters, Erica Albright and Madison Albright; 20 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Doris (Ralph) Kammerdiener, Syracuse, Janice A. Yoder, Goshen,

Preceding him in death are his parents, wife, Dorothy, children, Lynette Getz, Bruce Getz and Roger Getz and a brother-in-law, Kenneth E. Yoder.

Visitation will be 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 28, at Rieth-Rohrer-Ehret-Lienhart Funeral Home, 117 W. Waterford St., Wakarusa, and one hour prior to the 2 p.m. service Sunday, March 1, at Zion United Church of Christ, New Road, Wakarusa. Pastor Dale Speckman will officiate and burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Madison Township 4-H.
