Kosciusko
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accidents:
8:50 a.m. Monday, Feb. 23, SR 25 and Tinkey Road, Mentone. Driver: Matthew J. Everts, 28, East Main Street, Mentone. Everts was passing another vehicle when his slid on the slick roadway. The vehicle went off the road and collided with a utility pole and street sign. Damage up to $2,500.
8:07 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, South SR 15 and South Old SR 15, Warsaw. Driver: Eliana J. Winegardner, 16, East Lynwood Drive N, Warsaw. Winegardner was on SR 15 merging on to Old SR 15 when she lost control of her vehicle on a patch of ice. The vehicle went off the road into a stop sign. Damage up to $2,500.
Syracuse
Officers with the Syracuse Police Department investigated the following accidents:
4:40 a.m. Monday, Feb. 23, East Old Road 30 west of North CR 600E, Pierceton. Driver: Jaime V. Juarez, 45, Wooster Road, Winona Lake. Hit deer. Damage up to $2,500.
7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 20, North Huntington Street north of West Allen Street, Syracuse. Driver: Joshua R. Auer 21, North Main Street, Syracuse. Injured: Steven S. Sharp, 64, North Huntington Street, Syracuse. Sharp suffered a broken leg, head trauma and complained of stomach and back pain. He was transported to Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne. Auer did not see Sharp in the roadway. The accident is still under investigation. Damage up to $2,500.
Warsaw
Warsaw Police investigated the following accidents:
1:59 p.m. Monday, Feb. 23, East Lake Drive, Warsaw. Driver: Jean M. Hoover, 69, EMS C24G Lane, Warsaw. Hoover backed into a parked vehicle registered to Pamela S. Rowland, South CR 200W, Claypool. Damage up to $2,500.
12:36 a.m. Monday, Feb. 23, Provident Drive and Springhill Road, Warsaw. Drivers: Sisteen L. Boschet, 34, East Main Street, Warsaw, and Melba J. Smith, 74, Kech Street, North Manchester. Boschet turned the corner too sharp onto Provident Drive, hitting the stopped Smith vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
