Reinhard Paces Warriors Past Knights
SYRACUSE – Gage Reinhard scored 23 points and was steady down the stretch as Wawasee knocked off East Noble, 74-58, Saturday night at the Hardwood Teepee.
Reinhard scored 10 points in the fourth quarter to pace the Warriors. Reinhard hit nine jumpers from the floor in the game, including three in that final frame.
The Warriors also had 14 points from Alex Clark, nine points on three three-pointers from Jake Hutchinson, eight points from David Rocha and seven points from Aaron Voirol.
Wawasee took a 19-12 lead after the first quarter, where Hutchinson hit all three of his bombs, and spread out a nine-point lead at the half. The Warriors scored 23 points in the fourth quarter to seal up seal up its ninth win of the season.
East Noble (4-18 overall) has lost four in a row and have won just once since opening the season 3-0. Ren Crump led the Knights with 24 points and Brandon Nichols added 16 points. East Noble hit nine threes in the game, five by Crump.
The JV game went to East Noble in a 41-31 final.
Wawasee will have a busy week on the hardwood ahead of the state tournament. The Warriors (9-10 overall) will host Eastside Tuesday and Mishawaka Wednesday before heading to Tippecanoe Valley Friday night to end the regular season. East Noble will finish up with a home game Tuesday against Angola before visiting Leo Friday.
