Barbara M. Corl
Barbara M. Corl, 88, of Bremen, died at 7 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2015, at Wampler Senior Home in Bourbon, where she had resided for the last two and a half years.
She was born Nov. 18, 1926, in Hastings, Mich., to Loren and Mary (Blocher) Hershberger. While working for Brethren Volunteer Services in Puerto Rico, she met Richard Corl. They were married on Nov. 24, 1951, in Woodland, Mich.
Barbara was a registered nurse for 35 years at Community Hospital of Bremen. She loved her Lord with all of her heart and was a member of Bremen Church of the Brethren, where she had been the chorister for 50 years. Barbara had gone on a mission trip to St. Petersburg and several missions to Central America. She had traveled all over the world. She loved her grandchildren and her family. She enjoyed gardening and flowers and was an avid golfer in the Ladies golf group at Sprig-o-Mint Golf Course.
She is survived by her husband: Richard; son: John (Nancy) Corl, Warsaw; daughters: Brenda (John) Martin, Mishawaka; Peggy (Greg) Brassie, Mulberry; grandchildren: Daniel and Derek Schwartz; Diana (Beau) Langford; Laura and Marissa Brassie; step- granddaughters: Abbie Kirts and Jaime (Ben) Driscoll.
She was preceded in death by sisters: Carolyn Oberman and Joann Topping; and a brother: David Hershberger.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 21, 2015 at Bremen Church of the Brethren. Funeral services will begin at 3 p.m. Rev. Evan Garber will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
