Wagon Wheel Jr. Presents ‘Twinderella’
By Hannah Schutter
Marketing Director, Wagon Wheel Center for the Arts
Forget what you thought you knew about Cinderella and be prepared for a whole new story; Twinderella is the story of the famous princess and her, until now, unheard of twin brother, Bob. Although separated at birth, these two end up having a lot in common.
Bob and Cinderella both have evil stepfamilies that make them organize sock drawers and polish bowling trophies while their stepsiblings get to do whatever they want. Needless to say, neither Bob nor Cinderella gets to experience much fun! Their worlds end up changing when the UPS guy drops off invitations to the Kingdom of Wychwood-under-Ooze. Unfortunately, neither are permitted to go. Luckily, they both get some outside help.
Enter a Fairy Godmother, a Godfather (he ain’t no fairy) and two magical gerbils. With some assistance, Cinderella attends Princess Petunia’s birthday ball, and Bob crashes Prince Percy’s kingdom-wide baseball game. All is not normal though, and Bob and Cinderella both disappear after midnight with the only trace of them being a muddy cleat and glass slipper, respectively. What will happen now?
Tickets to see Twinderella are currently on sale at the Wagon Wheel Center for the Arts as well as online at wagonwheeltheatre.org and cost of admission is $12. There will be two performances, one on Jan. 31 and one on Feb. 1. Both start at 2 p.m. For more information call (574) 267-8041.
