Silver Lake Mini Mart Closed By Department Of Revenue
Sand’s Mini Mart, 615 N. Jefferson St., Silver Lake, has been closed since Friday, Jan. 16, and it is unknown when or if it will re-open.
Kosciusko County records show the property is owned by Black Gold Ventures Indiana LLC, Bluffton.
The business was closed by the Indiana Department of Revenue. According to a sign on the door the business was in violation of IC 6-2.5-9-2, which is failure to register or renew registration; transaction after revocation or suspension of certificate.
That statute reads: a retail merchant who makes a retail transaction without having applied for or obtained a registered retail merchant’s certificate or a renewal of a registered retail merchant’s certificate or after the retail merchant’s certificate has been revoked or suspended by the department commits a class A misdemeanor.
Attempts have been made to contact the Indiana Department of Revenue, with no response.
Contact was also made with the Jeffrey B. Harding, an attorney, who is listed as the registered agent for the company through the Secretary of State’s Office. Harding stated, “at this point I cannot comment as I do not have enough information to comment.” He further stated he could also not comment without the approval of his client.
