AKRON – The Tippecanoe Valley Middle School girls basketball teams each posted wins in season opening play Wednesday.

The Valley 8th grade team topped Whitko 30-21.

Sophie Bussard led Valley with 16 points and 12 rebounds. Sara Tucker had six points and five rebounds and Gabby Olson four points for the winners.

Valley won the 7th grade contest 37-6.

Emma Craig led the winners with 16 points. Karina Young had six points and seven rebounds, as did McKenzie Woodcox for Valley. Jadyn Kolesiak scored six points and Jillian Wallls had six steals and four assists.
