Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accidents:
4:37 a.m. Monday, Jan. 12, East US 30, west of South CR 250E, Warsaw. Driver: Ryan S. Ramsey, 33, William Drive, Winona Lake. Ramsey lost control of his vehicle on US 30, went off the road, down an embankment and overturned. Damage up to $25,000.
3:18 a.m. Monday, Jan. 12, North SR 13, north of East CR 900N, North Webster. Driver: Brandon M. Bohnke, 25, East CR 500N, Leesburg. Bohnke slowed for a vehicle entering the roadway in front of him, lost control of the vehicle, went off the road and hit a guard rail. Damage up to $5,000.
10:02 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 11, North SR 15, south of West CR 600N, Leesburg. Driver: Kerry L. King, 39, South Graceland Avenue, Claypool. Lost control of his vehicle, went off the road, hit a fence post. Damage up to $1,000.
9 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 11, North CR 300E, east of East Old Road 30, Warsaw. Driver: Christopher C. Rowe, 28, Reed Arrow Highway, Stevensville, Mich. Hit deer. Damage up to $2,500.
1:42 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 11, South SR 25, north of West CR 150S, Warsaw. Driver: Adam M. Craft, 24, North Morgan Street, Mentone. Swerved to hit a deer, went off the road, struck a utility pole head on, continued south, went across the road and into a ditch. Damage up to $25,000.
8:07 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 10, East SR 14, east of South CR 700E, South Whitley. Driver: Matthew L. Long, 35, West CR 700S, Claypool. Hit deer. Damage up to $5,000.
8:08 p.m. Saturday Jan. 10, South CR 1000W, north of South SR 14, Akron. Driver: Jaron D. Kidd, 19, East CR 225S, Akron. Lost control of his vehicle, slid off the road into a ditch. Damage up to $2,500.
4:04 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 10, South Country Club Road and East Pink Magnolia Drive, Warsaw. Driver: Heather R. Leavell, 32, Bancroft Avenue, Rochester. Lost control of her vehicle, went off the road, hit a utility pole. Damage up to $5,000.
3:45 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 10, West CR 1000S, south of CR 100W, Silver Lake. Driver Terra R. McCrory, 30, Ringneck Trail, Warsaw. Attempted to stop for a stop sign, slid through the intersection, hitting a guide wire snapping the utility pole, which crashed on top of the vehicle. Damage up to $25,000.
3:31 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 10, South Country Club Road and East Pink Magnolia Drive, Warsaw. Driver: Janet M. Reuter, 65, East Steven Drive, Warsaw. Reuter suffered minor bleeding to the head. Lost control of her vehicle, struck a utility pole. Reuter was not wearing a seat belt. Taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital. Damage up to $25,000.
9:52 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 10, East CR 400N and EMS B3 Lane, North Webster. Driver: William P. Breidert, 27, South Columbia Street, Warsaw. Slid off the road hitting small trees and KREMC pole guide wire. Damage up to $2,500
10:41 p.m. Friday, Jan. 9, East CR 500N, north of North CR 700E, North Webster. Driver: John T. Young. 34, Langford Lane, Fort Wayne. Slid through the intersection over a metal fence and into a field. Damage up to $5,000.
10:07 p.m. Friday, Jan. 9, South Country Club Road, south of East Pink Magnolia Drive, Warsaw. Driver: Olivia C. Smith, 17, West Winona Avenue, Warsaw. Slid off the road, hitting a pole. Damage up to $5,000.
4:16 p.m. Friday, Jan. 9, North Syracuse-Webster Road, south of East CR 1100N, Syracuse. Driver: Michelle M. Blake, 45, Greenhaus Drive, Syracuse. Hit a patch of ice, collided with a mailbox and utility pole. Damage up to $10,000.
12:49 p.m. Friday, Jan. 9, North CR 800W, west of West CR 125N, Etna Green. Police found a vehicle, registered to Nancy L. Elliott, CR 13, Nappanee, that had been eastbound on CR 125N, slid off the road and crashed into a tree. The vehicle had been reported stolen earlier that day. Damage up to $2,500.
12:35 p.m. Friday, Jan. 9, East CR 900N, south of North CR 500E, Syracuse. Driver: Jason L. Goldsmith, 22, East CR 1250N, Milford. Complained of pain to the chest. He was transported to an area hospital. Swerved to miss another vehicle, lost control on icy roads, went off the road and struck a utility pole. Damage up to $2,500.
9:02 a.m. Friday, Jan. 9, South CR 700E, north of East Eel River Road, North Manchester, Driver: Jay A. Fetters, 65, North CR 500E, North Manchester. Lost control of his vehicle, went off the road, hitting a fence. Damage up to $5,000.
8:19 a.m. Friday, Jan. 9, East Old Road 30, east of South Robinson Lake Road, Pierceton. Driver: Lindsay M. Bingham, 25, West CR 500N, Columbia City. Lost control of her vehicle, went off the road, down an embankment hitting two trees. Damage up to $5,000.
Warsaw
Officers with Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
5:52 a.m. Monday, Jan. 12, North Fox Farm Road, north of South Side Drive, Warsaw. Driver: Alyssa G. Decker, 26, North Crete Drive, Warsaw. Decker felt her vehicle being pulled off the roadway, tried to turn out of the snow bank but could not get back onto the roadway, colliding with a traffic sign. Damage up to $2,500.
8:23 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 11, East Center Street, Warsaw. Driver: Tina M. Smythe, 42, West CR 700S, Claypool. Sideswiped a cement base to a light pole in the parking lot at Owen’s. Damage up to $2,500.
1:10 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 10, East Center Street and Eastlake Drive, Warsaw. Driver: Tamra J. Bales, 53, East Swihart Street, Columbia City, and David E. Mehlberg, 68, West CR 600N, Leesburg. Bales failed to see the Mehlberg vehicle while changing travel lanes on East Center Street, hitting the Mehlberg vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
2:27 p.m. Friday, Jan. 9, South Detroit Street and East Market Street, Warsaw. Drivers; Christian M. Centeno, 16, North Columbia Street, Warsaw, and Maudie G. Bowen, 39, South CR 325E, Warsaw. Centeno turned in front of the Bowen vehicle. Centeno cited for not having a driver’s license. Damage up to $5,000.
10:50 a.m. Friday, Jan. 9, Lake City Highway and Silveus Crossing, Warsaw. Drivers: Aaron D. Bakian, 25, East State Street, Etna Green, and Jocelyn N. Garrido, 22, East Center Street, Burket. Bakian was driving a state highway snow plow truck eastbound on US 30, went into the northbound turn lane with a red traffic light and attempted to make a U-turn when Garrido’s vehicle struck the salt spreader on the truck. Damage up to $2,500 damage.
