James Bassett, 72, of North Webster, Ind., passed away on Jan. 9, 2015, at the Courtyard Healthcare in Goshen, Ind.

He was born on May 26, 1942, in Warsaw, Ind., to Harold and Elizabeth (McClintic) Bassett. He resided in Syracuse for 35 years, having lived the last 14 years in North Webster. He retired from Sea Nymph.

He is survived by his two nephews: Tim Smith, Goshen, and Scott Smith, Ligonier, Ind.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 12 at the Eastlund Funeral Home. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 13 at the funeral home with Pastor John Drexler officiating. Burial will follow at the Syracuse cemetery.
