George A. Lyons
George A. Lyons, 52, of North Webster, passed away at 12:36 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 1, 2015, at his home.
He was born on July 20, 1962, in Evergreen Park, Ill., to Edward Joseph and Mary Joan (Schramek) Lyons. He grew up in the Chicago area and attended Bremen High School in Midlothian, Ill.
He was a Union Carpenter at local 62 in Chicago for 10 years and formerly worked at McCormick Place in Chicago. He moved to the North Webster area in 2002 from Chicago. He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion Post 253 in North Webster.
He is survived by two daughters: Amber Lyons, North Webster; and Amy Lyons, North Webster; one grandson; two stepdaughters: Amanda Frye, Shinnston, W.Va.; and Samantha Frye, North Webster; three step-grandchildren; three sisters: Shirley Boblink, Warsaw; Cindy Braatz, North Webster; and Mary (Lon) Mallory, North Webster;
two brothers: Robert Lyons, Leesburg; and Edward (Brenda) Lyons, Syracuse.
He was preceded in death by his parents and life companion: Cynthia Frye.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 11, at the American Legion Post, SR 13, North Webster. Memorial services will follow at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 11, at the American Legion with Russ Chandler, Chaplin officiating.
Owen Family Funeral Home, SR 13 and CR 500N, North Webster, is in charge of all arrangements.
