Mervin M. Miller
Bishop Mervin M. Miller, 74, of Ligonier, passed away at home on Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2014. He was born on July 23, 1940 the son of Mose N. and Emma (Lehman) Miller. On Oct. 13, 1960, he married Vera Yoder.
He is survived by his wife, Vera Miller of Ligonier; three children, Dewayne J. (Ida Mae) Miller, Millersburg, Loretta Sue (Harley) Yoder, Ligonier, and Ernest E. (Ruthann) Miller, Topeka; twenty-two grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren; one brother, Harley J. (Wilma) Miller, Goshen; three sisters, Mary (Manas Jr.) Bontrager, Topeka; Ida Mae (David F.) Yoder, Shipshewan, and Ruby (Amos) Lehman, Goshen; and a sister-in-law, Anna Marie Miller, Millersburg, OH. He was preceded in death by his parents; a twin brother, Ervin Miller; five grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
He was a member of the Old Order Amish Church and had served as a Bishop in the church since 1982.
A funeral service was hosted at the Willis R. Miller residence, 4654 W. 1100N, Ligonier. Bishop Daniel Miller and the home ministers led the service. Grandsons were pallbearers and burial took place at Clearspring Cemetery, Topeka. Arrangement were handled by Yeager Funeral Home, Ligonier.
