Richard Taylor Arrested Over “LIFE” Game
A man in LaPorte county was arrested following an argument over a board game that escalated into a domestic dispute Saturday, Dec. 27.
According to police reports, Richard Taylor, 48, of Mill Creek, IN, was playing the game LIFE with his family when he made some remarks that upset his wife. There was no physical contact, but the two were arguing so violently that police were called to the residence around 9 p.m.
Taylor left the house and when officers spotted him outside he took off running. Police commanded him to stop, but he continued to flee until he reached a dead end on the path.
According to reports, Taylor had consumed a large amount of alcohol during the evening.
“I’ve seen a lot of unusual things in my day, but I’m not sure if anyone has engaged in a fight over a board game [before],” said jail commander Mike Kellems, a former patrol officer and detective in his almost 30 year law enforcement career.
Taylor was booked into the LaPorte county jail for class A misdemeanor resisting law enforcement, and posted the $605 cash bond the next day.
