NorthWood Ladies 1-1 In Northridge Tourney
MIDDLEBURY – The NorthWood girls basketball team wrapped up play Tuesday by going 1-1 in the Bankers Classic hosted by Northridge High School.
The Panthers opened play Tuesday with a 57-46 loss to South Bend Adams in their final pool play game.
Adams outscored NorthWood 20-5 in the third quarter to take control of the contest.
Jordyn Frantz led NorthWood with 11 points. Taitlyn Trenshaw and Arika Flickinger each scored eight points for the Panthers.
NorthWood then concluded play by beating Portage 58-45 in their place game.
The Panthers outscored Portage 19-5 in the first quarter en route to the win.
Frantz popped in 22 points to lead coach Adam Yoder’s team to the win. McKayla Fielstra had eight points and Flickinger and Savannah Feenstra each had seven for the winners.
NorthWood, now 11-5, returns to action for a Northern Lakes Conference game at Wawasee on Jan. 10.
