Etna Green Year End Meeting Approves New Pump
During Monday’s very short meeting the Etna Green Town Council paid bills and closed up shop for the 2014 year.
Council President Andy Cook was granted permission to purchase a new pump for the town sewer plant. Town Clerk-Treasurer Laura Baker told members of the council that she would be having surgery and thus would be out of the office for several weeks, but that she will continue to be able to carry out her workload from her laptop at home.
Cook agreed to contact Jerry Clase, Etna Green Fire Department’s assistant chief, regarding the department’s late rental payment for the use of the Heritage Park Building for a November fish fry. Kelly’s Restaurant’s overdue account payment was discussed, and it was decided to give the restaurant until the end of February to pay the full amount of its account balance.
The accounts payable vouchers amounted to $59,492.11, and were approved unanimously. “It’s just the year end meeting where we pay bills, always short,” explained Cook of the meeting’s brief nature.
