Kosciusko
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accidents:
6:41 a.m. Monday, Dec. 15, South SR 15, north of West CR 600S, Warsaw. Drivers: Daniel L. Swafford, 22, West Walnut Street, Claypool and Tamara L. Simpson, 56, South Edgewater Drive, Silver Lake. Simpson northbound on SR 15 when her vehicle was struck by an oncoming vehicle that crossed into her lane of travel. The other vehicle never stopped. At 5:15 p.m. Katie Bowser advised police her vehicle had been in an accident while Swafford has possession the evening of Dec. 14 and the day of Dec. 15. Officers met with the owner and Swafford. Police found damage to that vehicle matching the Simpson vehicle. Swafford stated he had been driving and crashed but did not remember much about the accident. Damage up to $10,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
2:24 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 16, North Parker Street and Lake City Highway, Warsaw. Drivers: Jennifer A. Lee, 32, Aboite Center Road, Fort Wayne, and Shanan L Cochran, 44, South Waxwing Lane, Warsaw. Lee thought there was a green arrow for her to turn left instead of a normal green, so she accelerated and started to turn left, when her vehicle hit the driver side door of Cochran’s vehicle. Cocharan was checked out by medics but no injuries were reported. Damage up to $10,000.
12:37 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 16, Meijer Drive and Lake City Highway, Warsaw. Drivers: Dimitar B. Voutchkov, 60, North Kedzie, Chicago, Ill., and Kenneth S. Balbaugh, 51, East CR 722N, Huntington. Voutchkov was eastbound on Lake City Highway and thought the Balbaugh vehicle in front of him was going to proceed through the intersection, but stopped. Voutchkov attempted to stop but slid into the semitrailer being pulled by Balbaugh’s semi. Damage up to $5,000.
7:24 a.m. Monday, Dec. 15, North Union Street, north of West Pike Street, Warsaw. Driver: Alec N. Lee Hanes, 17, Maye Street, Warsaw. Hanes was southbound looked down to pick something up, causing his vehicle to veer to the left, hitting a parked vehicle. The parked vehicle was registered to Monica A. Pifer, North Union Street, Warsaw. Damage up to $5,000.
