WCHS Music Department Hosts Holiday Concert

The Warsaw Community High School Instrumental Music Department will present “A Holiday Celebration” at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 11, in the WCHS Performing Arts Center Auditorium.
The concert will feature the WCHS Jazz Band, Clarinet Choir, Saxophone Ensemble, Brass Choir and the Percussion Ensemble. The WCHS Concert Band and Wind Ensemble will combine to perform as the WCHS Symphonic Band for this program. All ensembles are under the direction of Mickey Ratliff and Emily Mikel.
The program will include such holiday classics as “Baby, It’s Cold Outside,” “Bell Carol a ‘la Big Band,” “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas,” “Angels We Have Heard on High,” music from the movies “The Polar Express,” “The Nightmare Before Christmas” and many others.
There will be no charge for the concert, but free will donations for The Community Closet will be accepted in the lobby. The Community Closet distributes hygiene products, cleaning products, and other household items to local families in need.
Concert attendees are encouraged to donate such items as shampoo, conditioner, body wash, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes primarily children’s sizes, bar soap, laundry detergent, dish soap, household cleaning supplies, diapers, feminine products and toilet paper.
Monetary donations will also be accepted. Donors who write checks may make them out to the First United Methodist Church of Warsaw (with “Community Closet” in the memo line). The Closet distributes these items from the First United Methodist Church from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Wednesday.
