The Purdue Extension office in Elkhart County will be serving as a host site for an upcoming webinar aimed towards preparing sheep and goat producers for their lambing and kidding seasons. The educational series will take place from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 10, in the conference room at the Extension office located at Elkhart County 4-H Fairgrounds, 17746 CR 34 in Goshen.
These events are also a great way to network with other producers in the surrounding area to get tips and tricks that they have used in their operations.
Topics and speakers for the webinar include:
- “Selection and Management to Increase Kidding Season Success”- Dr. Kenneth Andries, Extension Goat Specialist, Kentucky State University
- “Nutrition and Management in Late Gestation Ewes and Does”- Dr. Mike Neary, Extension Small Ruminant Specialist, Purdue University
- “Dealing with Difficult Births in Ewe and Doe” –Dr. Michael Hill, College of Veterinary Medicine, Purdue University.
A flyer for the program can be found at https://extension.purdue.edu/elkhart. The webinar is free to attend, and we would like a reservation to make sure plenty of materials are available for all participants.
