Celebrate New Years With Salute To The Andrews Sisters
By KEVIN BELLAMY
Director of Administration, Towle Theater
The Towle Theater is expanding its entertainment offerings. This New Years Eve, it will be offering a night of nostalgic music called “All-American Sweethearts: A Salute to the Andrews Sisters” sponsored by Yale Business Center in Hammond. The concept was born after last year’s production of “A Fabulous 50’s Christmas.”
“The three female performers in the show had the knack of blending incredibly well,” says Managing Director Jeff Casey. They had that vintage classic sound of the 1940’s and 1950’s and the Andrews Sisters show seemed to be the perfect fit.”
The show stars Lauren Demerath, Nelia Miller and Rachelyn Primm all from Chicago with Elizabeth Tuazon as Musical Director and Accompanist. There will also be a small combo accompanying the girls.
The performance is Wednesday, Dec. 31. Seating begins at 7:30 p.m. and the show starts at 8 p.m. Tickets start at $100 per couple in advance. The evening includes continuous heavy hors d’ oeuvres, open bar from 8:45 p.m. to 9:45 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. to midnight.
Table seating also includes one cocktail per person per act. There will be a champagne toast at midnight with party favors, one and one half hour live Andrews Sisters tribute show with coffee and dessert during extended intermission and dancing until 1 a.m. to America’s favorite recordings of big band music.
The Towle Theater is located in historic downtown Hammond at 5205 Hohman Ave. Free, well-lit parking is available off of Fayette Street only steps away from the theater’s back entrance or in the parking lot directly across the street from the theater on Hohman Ave.
