SYRACUSE – The annual Wawasee November Super Duals were held this past Saturday and several local teams participated in the event.

Of the local squads in attendance, Whitko carried the torch, finishing fifth place in the 10-team invite. Tippecanoe Valley finished in ninth with Wawasee finishing just ahead of the Vikings in eighth. Columbia went a perfect 5-0 in the event to take top honors.

The Eagle grapplers were led by Hunter Langeloh, a seventh place finisher at the State Finals last February, and Kyle Egolf. Egolf was voted as the “Outstanding Wrestler of the Day” by the coaches.

Tristin Ponsler went undefeated for Wawasee in the 126-pound class as did Stephen Possell (170).

Whitko will travel to North Miami for a Three Rivers Conference meet on Tuesday while Tippecanoe Valley will begin TRC competition at Wabash, also on Tuesday. Wawasee will have a week to prepare before heading to the LaPorte Invitational this Saturday.
