Representative Nisly ‘Eager To Serve Hoosiers’
State Representative Curt Nisly (Republican-Goshen) joined fellow legislators at the Statehouse today, Organization Day, for the first official meeting of the 119th General Assembly. All 100 members of the House, including eight new Republicans, were sworn in by Chief Justice Loretta Rush. Rep. Nisly was elected to represent House District 22, which includes portions of Elkhart and Kosciusko counties.
“I am humbled and ready to serve District 22 at the Statehouse,” said Nisly. “I look forward to representing north central Indiana and working to address the most important issues facing Hoosier families in our community.”
Last month, House Republicans released their 2015 legislative agenda which works to increase accountability for all Hoosiers while strengthening Indiana in four major categories: the biennial budget, education, ethics and public safety. That focus was emphasized today as House Speaker Brian Bosma (Republican-Indianapolis) addressed members of the Indiana House, highlighting the importance of increasing accountability for all Hoosiers.
“I am eager to work with my colleagues this session to pass an honestly balanced budget with no tax increases,” said Nisly. “By managing our finances responsibly, we can continue living within our means while promoting a business environment conducive to job growth and economic development.”
