Veterans Day Ceremony At Center Lake Today
A Veterans Day ceremony will be hosted by the Warsaw American Legion and the VFW at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11.
The event will begin with a performance by the Warsaw Community High School band and will be followed by an honor guard. At 10:55 a.m. the ceremony will begin with the tolling of bells and a welcome from Legion Commander Ray Bledsoe. Tom Everett, Legion chaplain, will then follow with an invocation. A speech will be given by Jeff Plank, former Warsaw mayor.
The event will include the American Legion and VFW’s Post Everlasting, a reading of names of those who have passed away in the organizations over the last year. Ken Locke and John Sadler will give the Order of Kosciusko Award an award that honors a veteran within the community.
The event will conclude with a 21 gun salute and benediction. A free lunch will take place following the event at the American Legion in Warsaw.
