WINONA LAKE – A career day from Kelsey Sule highlighted an 86-55 victory for the Grace  College women’s basketball team over Indiana Tech on Saturday.

Sule poured in a career-best 22 points in 26 minutes off the bench, draining five 3-pointers to spark Grace’s rout of the Warriors (0-3).

Allison Kauffman also tallied 20 points, 7 rebounds, 4 steals and 3 assists in a well-balanced performance for the Lady Lancers (4-0).

Grace led from start to finish on Saturday, opening the game with a 3-pointer by Darian Patton. After six minutes of action, the Lady Lancers spurted ahead with a 13-2 run to open up a 24-10 lead with 11:24 remaining in the half. Sule ripped off four 3-pointers in less than five minutes to key Grace’s attack.

The Warriors trailed by as many as 22 in the opening half but rallied to within 49-34 at halftime.

The second half started fully in Grace’s corner. The Lady Lancers rattled off 15 unanswered points to begin the half, including six from Kauffman and five from Sule. Indiana Tech did not score a point in the second half until 5:24 had expired.

Grace maintained a nearly 30-point cushion for the remainder of the contest, substituting freely down the stretch for the 31-point margin of victory.

Sule and Kauffman combined for 42 points on 15-of-21 shooting to spearhead Grace’s offense. Chloe Pridgen produced 11 points and six rebounds in eight minutes off the bench, Kelsie Peterson had 9 points, 7 assists and 3 rebounds, and Gabby Bryant finished with six points and three steals.

Grace connected on a sizzling 56 percent shooting for the game, including 17-of-28 (61 percent) after halftime. Indiana Tech shot 31 percent from the floor and committed 28 turnovers. Grace enjoyed 33 points off those turnovers. WCHS grad Nikki Grose scored six points for the Warriors.

The Lady Lancers continue play at home on Wednesday 7 p.m. against Calumet College of St. Joseph’s.
