ATV Collision Sends 14-Year-Old To Hospital
Indiana Conservation Officers are investigating an ATV accident which occurred today at approximately 2:30 p.m. on Country Club Drive, Warsaw.
Thomas Lemon,14, of Warsaw was operating an ATV on private property when he collided head on with an ATV being operated by his sister Sadie Lemon,12, of Warsaw.
The two were on opposite sides of a hill and met at the top. Neither operator could see the other as they crested the hill in time to avoid the collision. The two ATVs collided which threw Thomas over the handlebars of the ATV he was operating and onto the ground causing a serious laceration to his knee.
Thomas’ father drove him to the Kosciusko Community Hospital where he received numerous stitches to close the laceration. Thomas was wearing a helmet which undoubtedly prevented further injury. Sadie Lemon and her passenger were unhurt.
Both ATVs sustained moderate to heavy damage. Indiana Conservation Officers want to remind all ATV operators to ride responsibly and always wear a helmet whether you are an operator or a passenger.
