Crobot Playing Fort Wayne, South Bend This Weekend
In the midst of their fall US tour, which has two stops in northern Indiana this weekend, Crobot released their new album, Something Supernatural, via Wind-up Records on Oct. 27. The group will continue their fall tour before joining Chevelle on Dec. 6 in Columbia, S.C. for a winter tour wrapping Dec. 20 in Milwaukee.
Crobot have announced they’ll join Volbeat and Anthrax for a nationwide spring 2015 tour as the very special guest. That tour will pass through the Hoosier state on May 19 at the Ford Center in Evansville.
“The time has come. It is here. It gives us great pleasure to lift the veil and officially cut the red tape for the release of Something Supernatural on Wind-up records. The Mothership just received confirmation on landing our biggest tour to date. We will be honorably opening for the return of the legendary Anthrax and hard rock titans, Volbeat on their US/Canadian tour in spring 2015. From Seattle to NYC and everything in between, Beardos unite!”
On Something Supernatural, Crobot, whom Revolver praised for “…weaving together the deep grooves of stoner rock with grunge, blues and metal influences,” has crafted an album of endless rock hooks, stellar musicianship and lyrical depth.
To perfect their blend of blues, metal and rock and roll, the band – Brandon Yeagley (lead vocals, harmonica), Chris Bishop (guitar, vocals), Jake Figueroa (bass), Paul Figueroa (drums) – worked with the producer Machine (Clutch, Lamb of God, Cobra Starship, Gym Class Heroes) at his Machine Shop studios in Austin. First single and good-time anthem “Nowhere To Hide” cracked the Top 20 at radio, peaking at #15 with major market support including SiriusXM Octane, WIIL Chicago, WRIF Detroit, KISW Seattle, KXXR Minneapolis, WIYY Baltimore, WJRR Orlando and WFTK Cincinnati, among others. In other news, Crobot partnered with Double Barley Brewery to create their own official beer, Crobot SupernaturAle. On Oct. 29, the group celebrated the official release of Crobot SupernaturAle at their show in Raleigh, NC at The Maywood. The group tapped kegs of their new brew and shared it with fans at the show. Double Barley Brewery is a family-owned craft beer brewery operating out of Smithfield, NC.
“We loved Crobot the first time we saw them play and after having them out to the brewery and jamming, we knew we wanted to brew a beer as special and over the top as the band so we came up with ‘SupernaturAle,’” explained Larry Lane, owner and brewer of Double Barley Brewing. “We specialize in bold, full flavored, high octane brews so we knew we were the perfect brewery to partner with Crobot.”
Crobot will perform at Club Fever in South Bend on Friday, Oct. 31 and Yolo Event Center in Fort Wayne on Saturday, Nov. 1. Visit www.crobotband.com for tickets and more information.
