By SUMMER ZIMMER

The community is invited to support the Y and be one of the first to see the new Parkview Warsaw YMCA.
From 5:30 p.m.- 9 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 8, the YMCA will be hosting a “Ties and Tennis Shoes” dinner to raise funds for their Annual Support Campaign which provides financial assistance to those in need so that everyone can learn, grow and thrive at the Y.
At the dinner, there will be tours, impact stories, a silent and live auction, dinner by Cerulean, a cash bar and on-site childcare for ages 6 weeks to 12 years. Seats are still available for the dinner if you would like to attend. Please sign up and purchase your seats at the Welcome Center or at www.kcymca.org.
Some of the live auction items include a helicopter ride and dinner for four at Cerulean Indianapolis, a one-week stay at a cabin in Door County, Wisconsin, a one-week stay for 10 at a Hawaiian home on the island of Kauai, a Bar Takeover of the Cerulean Winona Bar for eight, and a TinCaps Suite for 20 for a game.
The Y will be auctioning off the first swim in the new pool, the use of a locker for a year, and a reserved parking spot at the new Y for a year.
Silent Auction items include paintings by Terry Armstrong, a tailored suit, a jewelry making class at Canal Street Gallery, a gift bag from the Vein Institute and Medical Spa, a gift basket from Spice Merchants and Olive Branch, a sterling silver oval pendant with blue topaz from Bowers Jewelry, custard for a year from Culvers and a painting by Robert Hudson.
Also, you can bid for the chance to have your child sit on the bench with a Grace College or Warsaw Community Schools team of your choice in the “Coach for a Day” option.
All funds raised will benefit our community by providing everyone with the opportunity to participate in the Y’s services and programs.
If you are interested in sponsoring the event or in donating a silent auction item or you have questions about attending please contact Summer Zimmer at (574)269-9622. The dinner will be held at the new Parkview Warsaw YMCA at 1305 Mariners Drive, Warsaw.
