From now through the end of the month, boxes will be available at various locations in Syracuse to receive donations of winter clothing for distribution to needy recipients.
The program, “Share the Warmth,” is sponsored by Wawasee Community Bible Church, with the cooperation of several churches in the Syracuse/Wawasee Area Ministerial Association.
Members of the public are urged to drop off new and used coats, jackets, sweaters, gloves, mittens, hats, scarves, earmuffs, mufflers and other winter apparel at one of the following Syracuse locations: any church, Turkey Creek Fire Station One on Huntington Street, Syracuse Community Center, Ace Hardware, NewMarket, Syracuse Cafe and Wawasee Pet Grooming.
Other locations may be added, and the church will maintain an updated list.
The church will take any size clothing from infant to adult. Please make sure any used clothing is laundered and in good repair, and check all the pockets before donating any item.
Any money found in the clothing will be used to purchase additional apparel for distribution.
Boxes will be located inside the buildings, so please be aware of the particular location’s hours of operation.
After the collection period ends Friday, Oct. 31, the clothing will be sorted and sized. Distribution will take place on a first come, first served basis all day Friday, Nov. 7 and Saturday, Nov. 8, at Wawasee Community Bible Church.
For more information, call the church at (574) 658-9161 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. The church is located at 2035 E. 1300 N., east of Milford.
