Wounded Warriors Stop In Milford
Milford Elementary School had a dozen unique visitors this morning.
Twelve wounded American veterans stopped by at 8:30 a.m. as part of the “Wish For Our Heroes” program. The group of American heroes started their morning’s journey in Warsaw on their way to Notre Dame.
This was part of the first leg of the group’s five-day, 500-mile ride across Indiana raising support and funds for Hoosiers serving in the U.S. Armed Forced.
Arriving with a police escort at Milford Schools, the veterans greeted students, teachers and staff who provided drinks and fruit for the riders. An opportunity was available for an up close opportunity to talk with the veterans.
The veterans joined students and staff in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance and observing a moment of silence.
The group’s schedule for Thursday will include leaving South Bend and heading to Lafayette with a stop in Rochester at 10:30 a.m. at the Kroger store in Peace Tree Village.
