Culver Tops Triton
BOURBON – Preston Hansel made sure to spoil the home opener for Triton.
The Culver senior had a big game in pacing the Cavaliers past the host Trojans 28-0 in a game completed today.
The Northern State Conference opener for both teams was suspended due to weather Friday night with Culver leading 14-0 late in the second quarter.
Hansel, the senior quarterback for Culver, picked up right where he left off Friday night. He scored his third rushing touchdown of the contest right before halftime for a 21-0 lead. Hansel then hit John Robbins with a 55-yard touchdown toss for the 28-0 final.
Hansel scored on a pair of one-yard runs and from two yards out for the winners.
Grant Stichter rushed for 56 yards to lead the Triton offense.
Triton, which lost 21-19 to Culver a year ago, falls to 1-2 overall and 0-1 in the NSC. Culver improves to 2-1 overall and 1-0 in league play.
Triton hosts Bremen (1-2, 0-1) and Culver hosts New Prairie in conference games next Friday night.
