On Thursday, State Superintendent of Education Glenda Ritz visited Warsaw Community Schools.
Her visit included lunch prepared by culinary arts students at the Warsaw Area Career Center Blue Apron Restaurant. She then took a tour of Project Lead the Way classes at WACC and WCHS. Ms. Ritz also visited Washington Elementary to see STEM education, Eisenhower Elementary to see Literacy Groups, and Madison Elementary to learn about the WCS Mission statement and specifically enriching the lives of others through the Feed My Starving Children initiative. She also was able to visit Lakeview Middle School to meet WCS teacher of the year Betsey Vastbinder.
Randy Polston, WCS school board member commented on the visit, “When Glenda Ritz ran for office, her bumper stickers stated: Ritz4 Education. After spending an hour with her today, I walked out of the High School inspired by her passion for kids and education.”
WCS Superintendent Dr. David Hoffert added, “It was an honor to host the State Superintendent of Education Glenda Ritz. WCS is extremely proud of our quality academics, commitment to our mission, exceptional educators and students. We were grateful to share a glimpse of the opportunities WCS has to offer during this visit.”
