As the 2014-2015 school year kicks into gear, the Kosciusko Board of REALTORS® wanted to do their part to assure that 10 children of Kosciusko County were ready to roll.
The KBOR Community Service Committee reached out to Tammy Smith, director of Self Sufficiency Programs at Combined Community Services, to partner with providing Back-To-School Backpacks loaded with school supplies for 10 Kosciusko County students. The actual backpacks were graciously donated by Verizon Cellular Connection and held each child’s complete school list of supplies purchased by KBOR.
Additionally, KBOR purchased gift cards from Shoe Carnival to add to the backpacks so each child could purchase shoes for PE class. KBOR REALTORS® understand that making sure these children have all of their required level of supplies for the start of school is just one thing they can do to help support and improve the children’s learning. It is the hope and desire of KBOR REALTORS® to assist these children and their families during this often stressful and sometimes lean time of year when much preparation lies ahead for the start of school.
The Back-To-School Backpacks were presented to Tammy Smith and some of the children on Friday, Aug. 8, at the Combined Community Services facility.
