The Hoe Burger Wins Burger War
The winner of the Kosciusko County Burger War went to The Hoe Burger from the American Legion in North Webster.
A total of 23 restaurants entered the competition with their best burger and it was the county residents who voted on their favorites. Online voting began in late April and concluded this week with the crowning of the best burger in Kosciusko County.
The North Webster American Legion’s Hoe Burger is made of a choice ground beef patty topped with American cheese, sweet shaved ham, Swiss cheese and a fried egg with Pepper Jack cheese as a finishing touch. It’s served on a warm toasted bun.
Second place went to Rozella Ford’s Balsamic Goat Cheese Burger made of an 8-ounce burger patty, topped with balsamic caramelized onions and drunken goat cheese.
Next up for the Hoe Burger is the Regional Burger War where the North Webster American Legion will compete again against the winning burgers from six other counties in Northern Indiana for the honor of being named the best burger in Northern Indiana.
The seeding of the county winners will happen in the next couple of days and the Kosciusko County Convention and Visitors Bureau will keep us update.
