Special Olympics Indiana Kosciusko County athletes competed in the Area 5 Sectional basketball tournament held on Saturday, March 15.

The Kosciusko County Panthers played against the Carroll County Rockets and lost in the single elimination tournament ending the season. County coordinator, Becky Walls would like to acknowledge coach, Matt Swartz for doing a wonderful job with the team this past year.

In the skills competition, local athletes placed as follows in their respective divisions: Martha Sullivan, first division; Sandy Hunter, first division; Jim Nuell first division; Michelle Ousley, second division; Sandy Bibler, second division; Mary Bicknell, third division; J.D. Miller, third division; and Sharon Singleton, fifth division.

Special Olympics is currently running programs in bowling, track and field and bocce.
