Hollar, Wawasee Duo Among All-NLC
GOSHEN – Warsaw’s Jonny Hollar and a pair of Wawasee golfers made the list of the All-Northern Lakes Conference boys golfers following the conference tournament.
Hollar finished third at the NLC with a 77 and has been a consistent number one for the Tigers, which finished second in the conference after its second-place tally at Christiana Creek Golf Club last Saturday.
Joining Hollar on the list are Wawasee’s Tristen Atwood and Jeffrey Moore, who have been at the top of Wawasee’s scorecards all season. Moore finished fifth overall at 79 at the NLC while Atwood finished in a large group of golfers with an 82.
The All-NLC list includes 13 golfers overall, eight of which are All-NLC First Teamers and five named Honorable Mention All-NLC.
Leading the First Team is Northridge’s Will Erekson, who dominated the conference tournament with a round of 66, nine strokes better than the next-closest golfer. Erekson led Northridge to a 305 score and the outright team championship. Joining Erekson from Northridge were Austin Schmidt as All-NLC and Luke Morrison as Honorable Mention All-NLC. Raider coach Dennis Sienicki along with retiring Concord head coach Larry Bilger were named Co-Coaches of the Year.
NorthWood’s Brayden Glaser and Alec Dutkowski and Elkhart Memorial’s Brayden Sherwood rounded out the All-NLC First Team.
On the Honorable Mention All-NLC list were Logan Kauffman of NorthWood, Peyton Kime of Concord, Nate Kolter of Plymouth and Alex Hartsough of Goshen.
The All-NLC lists for baseball, softball and girls tennis will be officially revealed as the state tournaments wind down.
