WPD Releases Hotel Meth Lab Details
Warsaw Police have now released more information on the meth lab found at a local hotel that we first reported about on Friday. (See related)
This morning, WPD issued a press release noting that officers were called just before 1 p.m. to the Comfort Inn after Richard D. Cain, 33, of Warsaw, and Courtney C. Bowling, 24, of North Webster, were located in the room after the check out time. Hotel staff were not able to gain access into the room, so police were called.
According to WPD, officers arrived and found the safety lock bar on the door engaged. They were also able to see Cain sleeping on the bed. It took several attempts to awaken Cain, who eventually did wake up and open the door.
Once inside the room, officers located an active one-pot methamphetamine lab, precursors to the manufacture of meth, syringes and finished methamphetamine product.
Cain was taken into custody and booked in the Kosciusko County Jail on a Class B felony charge of dealing, delivering, or manufacturing methamphetamine. He is being held on a $100,000 bond.
Bowling was also charged with possession of over 3 grams of methamphetamine and for possession of stolen property. Police say the black Jeep Grand Cherokee the pair drove to the hotel was found to have a stolen license plate. Bowling was booked on a $25,000 bond.
Warsaw Police were assisted by Warsaw Wayne Fire Territory and the Indiana State Police Clandestine Lab team.
