Carl Allen ‘Al’ Heck
Carl Allen ‘Al’ Heck, 77, of North Webster, Ind., passed away at 3:05 p.m. on Saturday, May 10, 2014, at his home. He was born on March 23, 1937, in Fort Wayne, Ind., to Joseph Franklin and Sarah Jane (McKeever) Heck. He grew up in Fort Wayne and graduated in 1955 from Northside High School in Fort Wayne. He was married on July 5, 1960, in North Webster, to Sandra S. ‘Sandy’ Shock who survives. He was the owner of Heck Trucking in North Webster since 1987 and formerly drove truck for Pepsi Cola & Old Crown Brewery in Fort Wayne. He also lived in Huntertown and Columbia City, Ind., before moving to North Webster in 1988.
He was a former coach for Northcrest Little League Baseball for 11 years.
He is survived by his wife; daughter: Kimberly (Shane) Kennedy, Churubusco, Ind.; three sons: Ryan Heck, North Webster; Steve Heck, Columbia City; V. Joseph (Karna) Heck, Columbia City;
seven grandchildren; one step-granddaughter; three great-grandchildren; one step-great-grandson; three sisters: Connie (Duane) Likes, Fort Wayne; Frieda Keyser, Plainwell, Mich.; and Cheryl (Earl) McDonald of Green Valley, Ariz.
He was preceded in death by his parents, infant grandson and brothers: Donald, Robert and Victor Heck.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 13, at Owen Family Funeral Home, SR 13 and CR 500 N., North Webster. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 14, in the funeral home with Pastor Matt Bock of the Wolf Lake United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow in the Mock Addition of the North Webster Cemetery.
Memorial bequest may be given to North Webster E.M.S. or North Webster Fire Dept., P.O. Box 144, North Webster, IN 46555. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
