Vote For Experience, Vote For Bauer
Dear Editor,
I am a litigation paralegal with 32 years of experience, a political science graduate from Ball State University and a community volunteer. Twenty-three of my professional years have been served in Kosciusko County working in our local courts.
I am writing this letter with regard to the upcoming judicial seat elections. I believe that a citizen who has not personally been involved in a courtroom setting may not understand the absolute importance of the right person being elected to serve as Judge. Therefore I feel compelled to submit this letter to the editor.
Each of the candidates seeking election to Superior Court 1 and Superior Court 2 are fine men and well known in the community either as individuals or through their family. These attributes are not absolute qualifications to serve as Judge nor should they be the reason to elect a candidate to a position of such stature and significance to Kosciusko County. Experience is what matters.
In my opinion, a qualified attorney to serve as Judge is one who has an immense amount of courtroom time litigating cases, working before juries and serving as Judge Pro Tem (meaning a judge who is sitting temporarily for another judge or to an attorney who has been appointed to serve as judge as a substitute for a regular judge). It is also important to weigh the candidate’s integrity, commitment to their chosen profession and overall service to the community and our youth.
Torrey Bauer meets all of these standards and will have my vote for Superior Court #2. I have known Torrey professionally and personally for many years. He is man of integrity and ethics, well respected, committed to his profession and community holds the experience which is required to be Judge of Kosciusko County Superior Court 2.
Before you head to the polls to vote on May 6, please ask yourself the question, “If I were in a courtroom depending a well versed, knowledgeable and experienced Judge, which of these candidates would I want presiding over my personal matter?” The choice for your vote will be very clear.
Join me to support Torrey J. Bauer for Judge of Kosciusko County Superior Court 2.
