Bomb Threat Discovered In WCHS Bathroom
Warsaw Police Department is currently investigating a written bomb threat discovered in the boy’s bathroom during the school’s lunch period today. The school has been searched thoroughly by officers and administration and no threat has been detected, however, parents and students were notified of the threat at the close of the school day.
According to WCHS Principal Troy Akers, the note, which was broken into pieces stated “If you find this note, know there is a bomb threat in our school today.” The generic note was not dated and the time it was left in the bathroom is unknown. The school underwent its threat assessment and school safety response after discovery and police officers swept the building.
According to Akers, this is not the only threat of this kind in Indiana today. Three schools in the Indianapolis area were evacuated today due to bomb threats as well. Akers noted that the investigation has been handed over to police officers and that the school is hopeful someone will come forward.
“We take every threat very seriously and I am saddened someone felt this would be fun to do,” stated Akers.
