Two Sentenced On Federal Drug Charges
The United States Attorney’s Office announced the following activity in Northern District federal court, Fort Wayne:
Whitney Sparkman, 26, of Warsaw, was sentenced to two years probation after pleading guilty to the felony offense of conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance. According to documents filed in the case, in July 2010, Sparkman was involved in the transport of marijuana from Arizona to the Northern District of Indiana for distribution. The case was the result of an investigation by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Anthony Geller.
Jonathan Aramburo, 26, of Warsaw, was sentenced also sentenced in federal court last week. Aramburo received 157 months imprisonment with four years supervised release after pleading guilty to the felony offenses of carrying a firearm during and relation to a drug trafficking crime and conspiracy to distribute more than 100 kilograms of marijuana.
According to documents filed in the case, from January 2010 until February 2011, Aramburo and others were involved in a conspiracy to distribute marijuana in the Northern District of Indiana. This case was the result of an investigation by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives; the Kosciusko County Drug Task Force and the Whitley County Sheriff’s Department and was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Anthony Geller.
