Sacred Heart Staff And Students Discuss Haiti
Students, staff and parishioners of Sacred Heart Church and School met to learn more about their sister parish in Kenscoff, Haiti.
Mrs. Debbie Reith, Haiti chairperson for Sacred Heart, and Mrs. Cindy Hollowell, school liaison for Haiti, gave a wonderful presentation to all the students and staff about St. Nicholas Parish in Haiti. Students were allowed to dress out of school uniform by making a contribution to help our sister parish in Haiti.
Discussions took place about the lifestyle, economic situation, educational system and special needs of the Haitian people. The importance of our continued stewardship was shared and how our time, talent and treasure are so very important toward helping out the Haitian parish and school. Students were reminded how they are called as Christians to help one another, especially those who are less fortunate.
The students and staff danced in celebration, for this is how the proud people of Haiti celebrate. Plans are being organized for ways that stewardship for the parish will continue.
