April SNOW Showers Freezes Action
It was 70 degrees Sunday, and snowed Monday night. Oh, Indiana, you never cease to amaze!
Well, that being said, high schools are sending in cancellations for Tuesday ball games throughout the area.
Up first, Wawasee High School. The girls track meet at Goshen with Plymouth, the Northern Lakes Conference opener for all three clubs, will be bumped back to Wednesday, April 16, a 5 p.m. start. Girls tennis will not open its season Tuesday against Westview. A make-up date is set for Friday, April 25, at 4:30 p.m. Tennis’ season opener is scheduled for Wednesday, April 16, at Lakeland in a make-up game from Monday.
The varsity and junior varsity Wawasee softball home games with Columbia City have been cancelled, the varsity to be made up Thursday, April 17, at 5 p.m. while the JV game will not be made up.
The varsity baseball game between Wawasee and host Whitko is postponed today. A make-up game is scheduled for Thursday, May 1, at 5 p.m.
Warsaw has had to make changes to four events originally scheduled for today.
The girls tennis season opener at Fort Wayne Canterbury is cancelled. The team will now host Columbia City Thursday, April 17 at 4:30 p.m. in the season opener.
The softball game at East Noble has been moved to Thursday, April 17. The varsity will play at East Noble at 5 p.m. with the JV game at WCHS also at 5 p.m.
The girls track Northern Lakes Conference opener today at NorthWood will be held on Wednesday, April 16 starting at 5 p.m. in Nappanee. That league meet will also include Concord.
The JV baseball game at Manchester is cancelled with no make-up date planned for that contest.
Triton has postponed its softball and baseball games tonight. The baseball game at Caston will be played on May 15 at 5 p.m. The home softball game versus Caston does not have a rescheduled date yet. The Triton baseball team is now slated to return to action at Plymouth on Thursday, April 17 at 4:30 p.m. The softball team is slated to play at Tippecanoe Valley on Wednesday, April 16 at 5 p.m.
