Leonard L. Hileman
Leonard L. Hileman, 62, of Wabash, Ind., passed away at 9:05 p.m. Friday, April 4, 2014, in his residence.
He was born June 2, 1951, in Wabash to Leonard L. and Evelyn B. (Schultz) Hileman. He graduated from Wabash High School in 1969 and served in the U.S. Army 82nd Airborne Division from 1971-1977. On Sept. 10, 2012, he married Trysh J. Von Stetina. She survives.
He worked at the Laketon Refinery for 20 years and was then employed at Warsaw Plating Works and retired from AM General, Mishawaka, Ind., in 2011. Lenny was a lifelong fan of the Chicago Cubs and also enjoyed watching IU Hoosier basketball games. He loved to travel and camp and spent many summer days on his Harley Davidson.
Lenny was quick witted with a sharp sense of humor and always had a good joke to share. He spent many nights relaxing with his family and friends around a campfire sharing stories and laughing, often with Jimmy Buffet in the background.
Lenny is also survived by one son: Ryne E. (Sandra) Hileman, Akron, Ind.; four daughters: Melissa L. (Shannon) Carter, North Manchester, Ind.; Stephanie A. (Harry) Bekel, Wabash, Ind.; Rebecca N. (Billy) Tolson, Wabash; and Meghann L. (Brian) Foust, North Manchester, Ind.; two brothers: Ronnie (Aleda) Hileman, Summersville, W.Va.; and Donnie Hileman, Summersville, W.Va.; and 19 grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, April 14, at American Legion Post #402, Troyer Road, Laketon, Ind. The memorial service will follow at 5 p.m. in the Legion with Pastor J. P. Freeman officiating.
