Fort Wayne MedPro Appoints New President
MedPro Group, Berkshire Hathaway’s dedicated healthcare malpractice insurance business, today announced the appointment of Jean-Paul A. Rebillard as President of its Health System & Hospital (“HSH”) division. Reporting to MedPro President and CEO Tim Kenesey, Rebillard will lead a $70 million division offering healthcare malpractice insurance and risk management solutions to healthcare systems, hospitals and self-insured entities throughout the Americas.
“Jean-Paul is a terrific addition to our MedPro team,” commented Kenesey. “For two decades, he has delivered smart, customized solutions to health systems, hospitals and other healthcare providers of all shapes and sizes. As a respected broker and business consultant, he has earned the respect of clients, colleagues and competitors alike. By leveraging the peace of mind that comes from MedPro Group’s unmatched A++ financial strength, policy coverage and limits, winning claims defense and smart risk management solutions delivered locally through a nationwide network of MedPro professionals, and unparalleled expertise developed from our century-leading doctor malpractice insurance business, MedPro has built a leading health system and hospital malpractice solutions business. Jean-Paul will make us even stronger, and I have no doubt that our health systems and hospitals – and their brokers and agents – will benefit from Jean-Paul’s experience and dedication.”
After completing his undergraduate and graduate degrees at the University of Pennsylvania and beginning his healthcare risk solution career at the Pennsylvania CAT Fund, Rebillard joined Marsh, where he spent the last two decades sharpening his expertise and client focus through a series of increasingly challenging assignments, including most recently as Senior Vice President in Marsh’s healthcare practice. From his base in Philadelphia, he has delivered a full range of risk solutions to hospitals and multi-hospital healthcare systems, managed care organizations, large physician groups, and miscellaneous healthcare facilities throughout the United States.
Rebillard’s track record of success includes creating and managing insurance operations, including a doctor insurer in Nevada, a joint underwriting association in Missouri, a hospital risk retention group in Pennsylvania, and numerous captives and other alternative risk vehicles. With nearly all of MedPro’s HSH business produced through agents and brokers, Rebillard will partner with agents and brokers to deliver unparalleled, market-leading solutions and expertise.
“I am truly excited to join the nation’s leading insurer of healthcare providers,” commented Rebillard. “Healthcare delivery is changing more rapidly than at any time in my career. Health systems and hospitals – and their brokers and agents – need new, unique, and customized solutions. With almost 115 years of leadership, coverage that spans the healthcare provider continuum, and unmatched strength as part of Berkshire Hathaway, MedPro Group is positioned like no other company to support healthcare systems, hospitals and other healthcare providers through these changes. As leader of MedPro’s HSH division, I am eager to continue my work with healthcare providers and their brokers and agents to provide solutions for their evolving and expanding healthcare malpractice, risk management and patient safety needs.”
